“Insurgency, we understand perhaps a little bit more because of the Taliban,” Sessions said during a meeting yesterday with Hotline editors. “And that is that they went about systematically understanding how to disrupt and change a person’s entire processes. And these Taliban — I’m not trying to say the Republican Party is the Taliban. No, that’s not what we’re saying. I’m saying an example of how you go about [sic] is to change a person from their messaging to their operations to their frontline message. And we need to understand that insurgency may be required when the other side, the House leadership, does not follow the same commands, which we entered the game with.”
When pressed to clarify, Sessions said he was not comparing the House Republican caucus to the Taliban, the Muslim fundamentalist group. “I simply said one can see that there’s a model out there for insurgency,” Sessions said before being interrupted by an aide.
Sessions made a similar analogy last week at the House Republicans’ retreat, saying that Republicans “need to get over the idea that they’re participating in legislation and ought to start thinking of themselves as ‘an insurgency’ instead.”

On top of that, I heard a Senator from SC (Lindsey Graham) Last night of CSpan. He doesn't support the stimulus bill that they reached agreement on last night. He warned the president that he shouldn't make anymore speeches appealing to voters like he made yesterday on TV. Also, he said a third TARP would be required to fix the economy and when he comes asking for that, he (Lindsey Graham) won't vote for it. So he knows it's needed, but won't support it! They already got more tax cuts then needed and not enough spending targeted at job creation. IMO
I heard that spending on infrastructure and even food stamps results in way more related economic activity then tax cuts. Even though we all like them, the money goes to only those who already have a job/income, and more of that to those who are making more. Anyway, it looks like more then a few Republicans have decided on obstruction in spite of Obama's efforts to reach out.
Thank you for commenting, Daryl. I agree with your second paragraph above.
